Hey everyone, and welcome back to another edition of Hobbyist's Inner Circle!

First things first, I owe you all a little apology for missing last month's newsletter! Life has been absolutely crazy lately, between juggling the mining farm, creating content, testing new hardware, and everything else life throws my way. And if I'm being completely transparent, I also hit a little bit of writer's block. Yep, it happens to the best of us!

But here we are, back at it! There's been plenty going on in the world of crypto mining, and I've got quite a few things on my mind that I want to share with you all. As always, this is our little corner of the internet where we can talk mining, share experiences, and dive into the good, the bad, and sometimes the downright ugly side of this crazy hobby we all love.

So grab yourself a fresh cup of coffee, get comfortable, and let's dive in! I have been enjoying a new mushroom blend coffee! I know call me crazy, but it’s super smooth and a great way to start my day.

Do Not Wait To Take Profits, You Will Regret It!

Here's the reality, folks. Nobody knows when we're going to hit the absolute top of the next bull market. There's no magical indicator, no flashing red light, and certainly no little guy standing on the sidelines waving a red flag screaming, "THIS IS IT! SELL EVERYTHING!"

Wouldn't that be nice, though?

The truth is, by the time we realize we've reached the top, it's usually already behind us. And for those of you who have been around crypto mining long enough, you know exactly how painful that realization can be.

We've spent what feels like an eternity fighting our way through this last bear market. Honestly, it feels like one of the longest and most exhausting bear markets I've experienced. Heck, some of you might even argue that we're not in a bull market right now! And depending on how you define it, maybe you're right.

But here's my point: Why are we so obsessed with waiting for the perfect moment to take profits when there are opportunities sitting right in front of us?

The Age of Diamond Hands Is Over

Now, this might ruffle a few feathers.

For years, the crypto community has practically worshipped the idea of "diamond hands." Mine everything you can, hold every single coin, never sell, and wait for that magical day when your bags are worth a fortune.

And listen, I get it. I've been there.

But I've also learned that holding everything without a strategy isn't necessarily investing. Sometimes, it's just gambling on the future.

I preach this constantly on my channel, and I'll share exactly how I'm approaching things today.

95% of everything I mine gets converted into USDC, while the remaining 5% goes into my long-term Bitcoin holdings.

That 95% USDC funds my electric bills, new crypto purchases, new hardware and my salary.

That's my strategy! It's simple, consistent, and most importantly, it works for what I'm trying to accomplish.

I'm not chasing every green candle. I'm not stressing about whether Bitcoin is going to double next month. And I'm certainly not putting unnecessary pressure on my household finances just to stack a little more Bitcoin.

Now, that doesn't mean my strategy is right for everyone. Stablecoins like USDC carry their own risks, and converting mined crypto can create taxable events. But for me, having a plan I can consistently follow is far more valuable than trying to perfectly time the market.

Crypto Mining is a Marathon, Not a Sprint

This is probably the most important thing I want you to take away from this month's newsletter.

Crypto mining is a LONG game!

I think far too many people forget that.

We get so wrapped up in daily profitability, network difficulty, the latest coin pumping 200%, and whether our miners are making an extra dollar or two today that we lose sight of the bigger picture.

What good is mining $20 worth of cryptocurrency today if you're spending $25 in electricity to produce it, draining your savings, and hoping the market eventually bails you out?

That's not a sustainable strategy.

My goal isn't to mine as much Bitcoin as humanly possible over the next 30 days. My goal is to continue mining, managing expenses, taking profits, and stacking Bitcoin for years to come.

Because the longer I can keep my operation running sustainably, the more opportunities I'll have to accumulate Bitcoin over time.

And that's really where I believe the value of being a home crypto miner lies.

So, What’s YOUR Strategy?

Before you jump into your next mining hardware purchase, chase another profitable altcoin, or decide to hold everything until Bitcoin reaches some magical price target, I want you to ask yourself a few questions:

  • Are you actually taking profits? And if you're not, what exactly are you waiting for?

  • Is it time to rethink your mining strategy? If not now, when?

  • Are you mining with a plan, or simply hoping the market goes higher?

  • Can you financially sustain your mining operation through another prolonged bear market?

  • Are you in crypto mining for the long haul? And if so, does your current strategy reflect that?

I'm not telling you to sell all your Bitcoin tomorrow. I'm not telling you to abandon your long-term holdings. And I'm definitely not suggesting everyone needs to follow my 95/5 approach.

What I am saying is that you need to have a strategy for taking profits BEFORE the opportunity passes you by.

Because at the end of the day, the worst feeling isn't selling some crypto and watching the price climb a little higher.

It's watching your holdings reach life-changing values, refusing to take a single dollar off the table, and then riding those same holdings all the way back down through another bear market.

We've all worked too hard, spent too much on electricity, and invested too much time into this hobby to keep making that mistake.

Don't wait for someone to wave the red flag. Make a plan, take some profits, and live to mine another day.

The Return of GPU Mining?!

Something I haven't talked about nearly enough on my YouTube channel lately is GPU mining. And believe it or not, we're starting to see some pretty exciting opportunities again.

Projects like Pearl and Quantus have brought a renewed level of interest and profitability to GPU mining, something that many of us had practically written off after the Ethereum Merge. And guess what? I recently purchased MORE mining hardware.

Not another giant, power-hungry Bitcoin ASIC miners. Graphics cards! Yep, GPUs!

Why? Because I'm seeing opportunities worth exploring, and I don't want to sit on the sidelines waiting for the perfect conditions that may never come. Let’s make sure I set the record straight, I will be utilizing platforms like Kryptex to convert the Pearl and Quantus into Bitcoin.

Now, am I betting the farm on these newer projects? Absolutely not.

That's actually one of the things I love about GPU mining. If a newer project like Pearl disappears tomorrow, or profitability falls off a cliff, I still have physical hardware with potential resale value. I can pivot to another project, repurpose those GPUs, or sell them and recover some of my investment.

Of course, resale values aren't guaranteed, but that flexibility is something I really appreciate compared to being locked into a single algorithm with a specialized ASIC miner. Plus, I don’t see the demand for graphics cards going anywhere but up, from here. Supply continues to be scarce and demand skyrockets everyday with not just gamers, miners and now AI compute.

The important thing is recognizing opportunities while they're here, not six months after they've disappeared.

I sat down recently with fellow content creator and GPU Miner Red Fox Crypto to discuss “Is GPU Mining Back in 2026!? Go check it out! Video found here!

You’re ASIC Miners are Worth MORE then you Think!

Here's something I think far too many home crypto miners forget, especially those just getting started in this crazy hobby of ours.

Your ASIC miner isn't just a machine sitting in your basement printing cryptocurrency. It's an ASSET!

Think about that for a second.

When we buy an ASIC miner, most of us immediately start calculating profitability, electricity costs, and how many months it's going to take to break even. But what about the actual value of the hardware itself?

Unlike many things we purchase, where the value starts dropping the moment we open the box, crypto mining hardware has an interesting relationship with the market. When the price of the cryptocurrency it mines skyrockets, the demand for that hardware can follow right behind it!

And sometimes, the money you can make SELLING your miner is significantly more than what you'd make actually mining with it.

Let me share two recent examples from my own mining farm.

My $6,300 ASIC Miner Sold for $15,000!

Earlier this year, I was shopping around for a Bitmain Antminer Z15 Pro, a ZCASHASIC miner.

Back in March, these machines were selling for around $4,175. By the time I actually pulled the trigger in April, that price had jumped to $6,300!

Why? Well, ZCASH was gaining momentum, mining profitability was looking attractive, and demand for these machines was increasing.

Fast-forward five months.

My Z15 Pro was now one of the most profitable ASIC miners on the market, earning over $50 per day in gross mining revenue at the time.

You'd think I'd want to hold onto that money printer forever, right?

NOPE! I SOLD IT!

I listed my Z15 Pro on eBay for $16,500 and ultimately sold it for right around $15,000!

That's an $8,700 difference between what I paid and what I sold it for, before marketplace fees and other expenses. Not even adding in what it earned for 5 months.

But here's where things get REALLY interesting.

When I sat down and compared what I could potentially earn continuing to mine versus selling the hardware, the math was eye-opening.

Based on the assumptions I used at the time, it would have taken me over 400 days of mining to generate the same amount of money I could realize from selling the miner, after accounting for my original purchase price.

Instead, I owned that machine for roughly 150 days, sold it, and immediately unlocked the value tied up in the hardware.

Now, I actually put together an entire YouTube video walking through the math, profitability, and reasoning behind this decision, so I won't spoil all the fun here.

But the lesson was simple.

Sometimes the most profitable thing your ASIC miner can do is STOP MINING and get SOLD!

Another Miner, Another $2,000 Opportunity!

And believe it or not, I did something similar just recently.

I purchased a Goldshell SC Ultra directly from China. After shipping and everything else, I had right around $3,000 invested in the machine.

I was excited to get my hands on it, but I also recognized what was happening in the market.

With the volatility surrounding XBT, questions about token lockups, and the uncertainty of future profitability, I had a decision to make.

Do I plug this thing in and hope the profitability holds?

Or do I take advantage of the hardware demand right now?

Well, I actually listed it on eBay the SAME DAY it arrived.

And guess what? It SOLD for $5,000!

That's a $2,000 difference in less than a week of ownership, before selling fees and expenses.

Could I have made more by holding onto it and mining? Absolutely possible!

But could profitability have collapsed, or the hardware's resale value dropped before I recovered that money? Also absolutely possible.

For me, the opportunity to lock in a quick return was simply too attractive to pass up.

And that's exactly the mindset I think more home crypto miners need to consider.

It's Not Just ASICs. Look at GPUs!

This is actually one of the biggest reasons I'm starting to revisit GPU mining, especially with NVIDIA's newer RTX 5000-series graphics cards.

GPUs have something going for them that many ASIC miners simply don't.

They have multiple potential buyers and uses beyond cryptocurrency mining.

Gamers want them. Crypto miners want them. AI enthusiasts and compute providers want them.

That creates a much broader potential resale market, and it's something I'm paying close attention to as I evaluate my next hardware purchases.

Now, I'm not suggesting every GPU you buy today will magically be worth more tomorrow. Supply, demand, new releases, and market conditions can change quickly.

But the ability to mine cryptocurrency today and potentially resell that same hardware to a gamer or AI enthusiast tomorrow is a HUGE advantage.

Stop Thinking Like Just a Miner. Start Thinking Like an Investor.

Here's what I really want you to take away from these experiences.

The next time you're looking at purchasing an ASIC miner or building another GPU mining rig, don't just ask yourself:

How much cryptocurrency can this machine mine every day?

Also ask yourself:

  • What's this hardware worth on the resale market TODAY?

  • Could its resale value increase if the cryptocurrency it mines takes off?

  • How many days of mining would it take to equal the profit from selling it?

  • Am I better off mining, holding the hardware, or selling it and reinvesting somewhere else?

Of course, hardware prices can fall just as quickly as they rise, and listing prices aren't guaranteed sale prices. Electricity, taxes, transaction fees, and marketplace fees also matter when you're calculating your actual return.

But the bigger picture remains the same.

Your mining hardware has value beyond the coins it produces.

And sometimes, recognizing that opportunity can be the difference between spending another year chasing profitability and walking away with money in your pocket today.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: crypto mining is a long game. But playing the long game doesn't mean you can't take advantage of short-term opportunities along the way.

So take another look at the miners sitting in your basement, garage, or backyard mining shed. You might be sitting on more value than you realize!
